Chapter Activities
The Twin Forks Chapter visits different events and shows around the area. This is how we tell others about the Chapter, and the different aspcts that make the Twin Forks Chapter what it is today. From Greenberg Train Shows, to Railroad Festivals and even smaller venue shows. Twin Forks has been there and will be there in the future.
At these events we hand out information brouchers about the Chapter, try to sign up new members, talk about our restoration projects and sell our various items such as T-Shirts, Photos, Books, Hats, etc to raise funds for the Chapter.
We also help other groups staff thier tables at other shows when they need help.
Recently, we helped staff the Polish Town Festival in Riverhead and the Maritime Festival in Greenport for the Railroad Museum of Long Island.
Doing shows and getting out and meeting people and selling our railroad related items are an important part of our Chapter, and one of the activites we are involved in. Next time you see us at a show or an event, stop by and say hello.

Some of the other activies of the Chapter is having a Bar-B-Que at the Peconic County Minature Railroad, Located in Greenport , NY.
We enjoy a great lunch, at the pleasent surroundings of the PCMRR. Afterwards, we ride the G-16 miniture trains for therest of the afternoon. In fact we get to actually run the trains under the guidence and tutorlige. of President and General Superintendent Frank Field and his all volunter staff. As you can see from the pictures, we always have a great Time at the Peconic County Miniture Railroad.
With Member John Kilbride at the controls and members Gordon Prenner and Art Christian, we photograph the PCMRR as the classic F-Unit does a Run-By for the other members. Rich Gorddard Photo
We also visit other places. Such as a visit the Greenport site of RMLI. Greenport features a snow plow, a caboose and a museum housed in the original LIRR freight house.

We even got to check out a former Lehigh Valley Tug Boat. The Tug called the Cornell, used to tug and push railroad barges around NY harbor. Here we were able to board her, tour the vessel and step aboard a bit of Maritime Railroad History.
Chapter members were lucky to have been aboard the Cornell while she was at Greenport. Unfortunately she is no longer berthed there anymore. Please see our coming events page for more details about getting a trip on the Cornell in the City! Rich Gorddard Photo
